The Dark Heart of the Empty Planet is about the metaphysical and literal spaces we occupy, alone, in regards to and sometimes in opposition to reality. Here it takes shape as a broken, ruined planet, distant from life itself, lit by a skull moon and hovering in absolute secrecy. A refuge, as it were, a dead, chilly outpost with its own dark secret.

That's the metaphor, anyhow. In essence, this is a soundtrack to a mental plane solely occupied by the artist. Devoid of anyone and thing, once a necessity of self preservation. Neverland, The Outback, Imaginarium, whatever it is for whoever, any outcast, creative person, or outsider probably has a headspace they occupy, someplace strange and safe. The problem is these temporal escapes aren't meant to be occupied forever.

And the truth is this - no one can survive themselves alone.

This is a chronicle of the inception and destruction of my own empty planet. Someplace cherished, that held much freedom, but something that turned me in to my own captive, a breeding ground for nothingness and empty thoughts. The abandoned planet eventually came back to life and exploded. Escape was eventual - another cautionary tale of living out of one's own head.

Your consciousness can expand to rival the vastness of eternity, but without humanity it is ultimately worth naught.
